Tasma Glossary (courtesy of Lucinda)

Ethan gave us such gems as “its a wobbly planet”, an aphorism which has almost hourly application for me. Lucinda has been adding her own terms to the Tasma Lexicon …

Misapppeared: An item which has gone, and you miss it.

Appley-pus: Platypus

KangaBoo: a Kangaroo that surprises you.

Noodle – Man: Jesus*. See also, Noodle man house.

* Upon the death of her great grandmother, Helen Laura McClelland, Lucinda made her first visit to a church, where she saw stained glass, her first image of Jesus, with his air rendered as if a bowl of 2 minute noodles had been dumped on his head (something like the image below).

I like that noodle man”, she said.

I just dont know myself

Lucinda: these butterfly clips hurt my hair

Dad: here, let me take them out. Ethan just put them in to make you more beautiful than you already are. Isn’t she beautiful, Ethan?

Ethan: Yes.

Lucinda: But I just don’t know myself like that, when I am Lucinda Rose.

Dad: But you are beautiful

Lucinda: but I dont know that.

She is 3 years old.

Misappearances

Lucinda had to give up her 5 dummies after her 3rd birthday. She used to take them all with her all the time. She says they have misappeared. “They went into mummy’s dressing gown pocket and they misappeared”. For a couple of days she cried at bedtime, missing her dummies and thinking aloud about all the times they would not be there: in the car, going to bed and lying on the couch without the comfort of her dummies. She lies in bed and cries, and calls them back. “Come back, Dummies. Where are you come back now.”

Beefcake on your birthday

It’s Lucinda’s 3rd birthday. She’s pretty excited, of course. This morning she was raving about what she thought her cake would be like: “t will have flowers, and …. bees on top! And the flowers will be made of sugar! And there will be icing on the cake! And …Roast Beef!”

Insults

Ethan’s insults are becoming more complicated all the time. This morning: “Your brains smell like rotted porridge with slugs inside!”

So there.
