Lucinda turns 11

Let’s face it our family enjoys celebrating birthdays!

The birthday cake request this year was for a Watermelon Cake! To be clear… I love a decorating challenge, but even with a fancy Italian oven I cannot bake a cake! This one called for layers of pink velvet cake with choc chips with insane volumes of butter icing and fondant. Paul, our dear friend, agreed to bake the cake…

Paul not only baked the cake, he stayed up until 3.30am making the icing!

In addition to an Escape Room experience where 5 girls screamed a lot and one big sister solved the puzzles… the sisters; Lucinda, Audrey and Paige went to the opera!

Happy birthday Lucinda xxx

Lucinda’s 6th birthday party

See if you can pick Daniel out!
I included all of Pete’s “everyone at the party” shots from under the tree in the backyard, because each one is hilarious in a different way.

Ethan is 9 today

Pancake Batter all over the kitchen! Presents! Pandemonium!

And among the wonderful presents, one that means fun and peaceful drumming for the whole household. Electronic Drums. No more barking and “SHUUUUT UP, PUCK!” during drum practice. Last night we were treated to a song composed on the spot, and performed (Drum and Vocal) by Ethan about all the top ten presents on his wish list.

Happy Birthday, my son.

Fire!

Ethan had a visit from Fire-twirlers on his birthday! Some new friends of ours came by after sunset and gave us our own personal performance. Thanks so much to Warwick, Amanda and Kerrie. Wow.

Ethan’s 8th: a big day for the lil fella.

Woke Up,
saw a frog,
Got lots of presents,
my mum made me a card with a green tree frog on it,
Went to a tropical beach and swam with face-mask & flippers for the first time,
my front tooth fell out in the water,
came back home,
had a party with a choc-chip ice-cream cake that looked like an echidna,
and marshmallows, and chocolate biscuits, and chips,
had half a bottle of ginger beer,
had a proper country milkshake (chocolate), made in an aluminium cup,
went to the pool,
had KFC,
had a Golden Gaytime icecream,
came home to another party,
had more presents,
and another cake,
set off party poppers,
ate 4 kit kats,
a band of fire twirlers arrived and performed specially for me for half an hour,
threw up.
Perfect.

Nick’s 45th Birthday!

Thanks so much to Karen & Pete for hosting a perfect party, and to the mighty Hickeys for babysitting, and Dave on Barbie Duty! I couldnt have had a better time. Thanks to everyone who came and especially those who travelled a long way to be there, like John Travis, Steve and Stace! You’re all ace. I dont know how I got to be so lucky, to have such a fine bunch around me, but I feel very thankful.

Thanks to John C for the fine photos!
