a harmonica the size of an encyclopedia

A couple of months ago I received one of the best gifts of my entire life from my friends Phil and Blair at work. It is a Hohner DOUBLE BASS CHROMATIC HARMONICA. It’s enormous. It has an upper and lower section joined with a hinge. I am slowly learning to make some sounds on it which do not remind the listener of the distress call of a large goose.

Lucinda

The camera’s been out of action for a while, so I haven’t been able to show you Lucinda’s developments. She’s taking a few steps now, and lets the odd word slip (such as “Dog-Dog”, and “Yum”). I wish I could show you her unique one-leg-outboard high speed crawling style.
