Mothers Day

Breakfast in bed, then Fi went to the St Kilda Baths. Audrey made a surprise for her.

Audrey lies about her age to get into school

It’s a normal school day.
Fiona’s at the front office, chatting with Andrea, the school secretary, after having dropped Lucinda and Ethan off.
Audrey:I want a school bag.
Fiona: You know, Andrea, Audrey really cant wait to get into school. Her brother and sister go to school, and she wants to be here too.
Andrea: Audrey, how old are you???
Audrey: (looks down and to the right) … FIVE.

The Acrylic is Flowing

Audrey’s favourite song right now is “Painting a Picture”, bu Justine Clark. It must be played on every car journey. It must be played ceaselessly. It cannot under any circumstances even momentarily stop playing. Luckily it’s a great song because Justine rocks.

PAINTING A PICTURE

I have the best time that I’ve ever found
Painting A Picture
Mixing the colours and slushing them round
Painting A Picture
When my brush fills up that big paper sheet
I couldn’t care less about some things like sleep
When someone shouts dinner
Well who wants to eat? I’m
Painting A Picture

Swishing and dipping and putting it there
Painting A Picture
Pink on the paper and blue in my hair
Painting A Picture
Some people stick to the colours they see
Red for a ladybird green for a tree
But I choose whatever I want them to be
Painting A Picture

I may be lost in a world of my own
Painting A Picture
But when it’s all finished it feels just like home
Painting A Picture
I’ve covered the walls from the roof to the floor
There’s three on the fridge and two more on the door
But somehow there’ll always be room for one more…
When I’m painting – painting
Painting A Picture
