We just had a fabulous visit from my sister Karen, who came all the way from the Barossa to spend time with us and the children. Wonderful. Something the kids will always remember is their visit to the Winter Wonderland at the Docks, where Ethan made a new friend: Steffi (pictured with icecream).
There is a little steam train which runs between Castlemaine and Maldon three days a week. The whistle goes DOOOOOOT!

Visits from the Hickey Family, Deb and Rob Candlish, Steve and Stacey, Brent and Jeanette, three gigs, lots of music around the kitchen table, lots of action at the giant Vaughan Springs slide, spiderman action figures, breakfast at Saffs, Buffalo Wings, impromptu performances at the Redesdale Tavern … what more could you ask?

Autumn arrived in a single day. It just turned, like that. By Friday night, Summer was over. There are golden leaves everywhere and moths large enough to blacken your eye are knocking on the windows at night. Sunny, cold days and clear nights.
