Merry Christmas and stuff – as always belated – from Paul, Michaela, Hamish and Charlotte. Would love to see you when you have time to visit the misanthrope in the Hills. Lots of love to you all.
Paul
Dearest Thorpes Again,
The reason Audrey is asking about the pirates is that she’s tapped into the collective subconscious and desperately desires to meet the descendants of the world’s most famous female pirate, Mary Read. That would be us. I fully guarantee that if you ask Audrey why pirates are called pirates, she will immediately offer that it’s just the way they arrrrgggghhh! So bring her up to meet the Reads. That’s what she wants, ahoy.
Ten minutes in the company of the Reads and Audrey will be fully in touch with her inner pirate, quite possibly proclaiming in lieu of asking for biscuits – “Avast, ya yella-bellied bin-scum and give the swabs a broadside!”
Lots of love from Paul Read, not so swashbuckling son of Capt James and 11th generation descendent of Mary, who’s father was also Captain James, who sailed the West Coast of Australia with William Dampier 100 years before Cook, or thereabouts, ahoy, aharrgh and pieces of eight …. la de da, de da, ah aharrggh!
And one final one Nick, I love the Ho Ho Ho pic! Mine would be a Yo Ho Ho.
Loveya,
Paul
ps did you get my sympathies on the passing of dear Eric Biggles? I suspect you didn’t so I’ll say again how sad I was to hear of the great sniffiator’s passing. Will miss the old boy. He and I were good mates.
