Missing for Longer than we Thought

We were down at the local playground this weekend, and Lucinda was out of my sight for a couple of minutes. I could see Ethan, though, so I called, “Ethan, where is Lucinda?”

He answered: “Oh, she died in the 1850’s” !

Heroes and Villains

Yes, 6 year old boys are cute. But the age of puppy’s dogs tails is well over.

Their imaginations are the fields in which great and brutal battles are fought, and Ethans drawings now are full of the maimed and the dying. Each toy picked up is engaged in afight to the death, with sound effects, within seconds. The pictures below are all from a single very large image which I can only describe as a cross between the Bayeaux tapestry and the middle pages of “Where the Wild Things Are”. Like the Bayeaux Tapestry is it actually a narrative of a battle.

There are no shades of grey: just evil do-ers and good guys.

Have a look at the rogues gallery below. The last monster, is Ethan’s Friend Reed!
