Lucinda Dances
Missing for Longer than we Thought
We were down at the local playground this weekend, and Lucinda was out of my sight for a couple of minutes. I could see Ethan, though, so I called, “Ethan, where is Lucinda?”
He answered: “Oh, she died in the 1850’s” !
Womadelaide
Expedition to Adelaide for Womadelaide. None of this would have been possible wtihout fantastic support from Thorpes & Tylers (especially Karen & Dad & Judy).
Audrey stayed wedged in the backpack most of the time at the festival, under a pretty blue parasol. We went to Womadelaide during the most intense heatwave since records were kept in Adelaide. It was fabulous. Our festival pick: Mavis Staples, of course, by a dusty country mile.
As it turned out, the Womad trip had more in store for us than we could possibly have known. I cant write about this right now.
Family Brunch on The Parade
I just dont know myself
Lucinda: these butterfly clips hurt my hair
Dad: here, let me take them out. Ethan just put them in to make you more beautiful than you already are. Isn’t she beautiful, Ethan?
Ethan: Yes.
Lucinda: But I just don’t know myself like that, when I am Lucinda Rose.
Dad: But you are beautiful
Lucinda: but I dont know that.
She is 3 years old.
