Flic offered to make a wedding cake – how gorgeous it is!
Geoff Le Blanc and Louisa Wise surprised us with a wedding waltz that they composed for us. We can’t really waltz – but that’s never stopped the dancing.
Within a few minutes of Nick proposing to Fi, Tahli offered her services to help make the wedding happen. Fi had been joking for 20 years that it would be next to impossible to find time in our lives to plan a wedding… and now at possibly the most hectic time ever we were doing it!
Behind the scenes Tahli, Josh and a team of helpers scouted out the Lyonville Community Hall, created beautiful decorations, including spectacular banners, seamlessly co-ordinated the food, the drinks, the videoing, a mini-bus and driver, provided setup and bump out and MC duties … the list goes on and on.
Thank you and thank you again with all our heart.
Before the hitching, came the proposal. At the Thorpe family Christmas Nick seized the moment and proposed to Fi. Nick’s spontaneity left the kids in a state of shock.

Moments later Karen gave Nick their grandmother, Mildred’s engagement ring to give to Fi. What a beautiful family heirloom.
We gave people such little notice, and there were many close friends and family who wanted to be part of the celebration and just couldn’t be there. (Mostly) they’re still talking to us.
Here’s a link to the video of the wedding ceremony, especially for those who wanted to be there.
