What shall we be when we grow up?

Audrey: shopkeeper. because I get all the money
Lucinda: Dancer, Hairdresser, stylist, singer…
Dad: doesnt want to grow up .
Dog Stabber.
I was in Audrey’s prep class today, showing them the double bass. Audrey was playing a leading role in procedings up at the front with me, constantly stepping forward with information of all kinds, without necessarily paying close attention to the truth.
I was explaining that the string family is like our family – with 4 children, from the smallest (Audrey, the violin) to the largest (Paige – double bass). Audrey leaped in with:
Audrey: We have Eric [much loved ex pooch], too!”
Me: No, Eric died, remember?
Audrey: Yes, Erics legs stopped working, so Daddy stabbed him.
I got the strangest look from Shae, Audrey’s teacher! Even after I told her that Eric had been euthenased by a vet, she didn’t look 100 percent convinced!

Fi: can you think of a big Australian City beginning with “S”?
Ethan: Scamberra.
Fiona: Nope.
Ethan: Spazmania!
Fiona: Nope.
Ethan: how about “U”?
Fiona: hmm. OK. What’s that gigantic rock out in the middle. Of Australia ? The famous one.
Ethan: The UltraRock?
Modern Maladies
Me: Lucinda, what’s an example of a disease?
Lucinda: Weasels.
